Why Eyebrow Transplant Is Technically Demanding
The eyebrow requires hairs implanted at very specific angles and directions — following the natural growth pattern of the eyebrow precisely. Unlike scalp hair where slight imperfections blend in, incorrect eyebrow hair direction is immediately visible.
Single-hair grafts are used exclusively in eyebrows. The Choi pen (DHI technique) is commonly preferred for eyebrows as it allows precise, controlled single-hair placement without pre-made channels.
Donor Hair for Eyebrow Transplant
Scalp hair is the donor source. Because scalp hair grows faster than eyebrow hair, transplanted eyebrows need regular trimming to maintain an appropriate length. Patients need to be informed of this and committed to this maintenance.
Results
Excellent results are achievable in appropriately selected patients. Transplanted eyebrow hairs are permanent. The natural eyebrow shape can be fully restored or enhanced in patients with appropriate donor hair.
