Beard Transplant Istanbul: Filling Gaps and Creating a Full Beard with FUE

Beard transplantation is one of the fastest-growing areas of hair restoration surgery. Istanbul is one of the world's leading destinations for beard transplantation, with high patient volumes and experienced surgical teams.

Who Is a Candidate for Beard Transplant?

Beard transplantation is appropriate for men who have patchy or uneven beard growth, naturally thin or sparse beard density, beard hair loss due to scarring from acne, accidents or burns, or who want to create a new beard style that natural growth does not support.

How Beard Transplant Works

FUE extraction — typically from the scalp — extracts single-hair follicular units which are implanted into the beard area at precise angles matching natural beard growth patterns. Beard hairs grow at different angles in different zones — direction must be planned carefully for each area.

How Many Grafts for a Beard Transplant?

  • Light patching (specific bald spots): 200–600 grafts
  • Moderate improvement (overall density): 600–1,500 grafts
  • Full beard creation: 1,500–3,000 grafts
  • Combined beard and moustache: 1,500–2,500 grafts

Healing and Results

Days 1–5: Small crusts. Days 5–14: Crusts fall. Weeks 2–4: Shock loss (normal). Months 3–4: New growth begins. Month 6–9: Full result visible. Transplanted beard hair grows naturally, can be shaved, and behaves like native beard hair. Results are permanent.

Beard vs Scalp Transplant: Key Differences

Direction requirements are more complex in the beard. Graft counts are typically lower. The face is always visible, so healing appearance matters more.
